May 10 - 2008 Mountain Ranger Run(s), Mountain Bike Race & Duathlon - To Benefit Local CharitiesThe 12th Annual Mountain Ranger Run Association offers the most challenging and scenic cross-country/trail course that the North Georgia Mountains can provide. This race will be held in conjunction with the 5th Ranger Training Battalion's Open House. The Open House will highlight US Army Ranger combat techniques, military mountaineering, hand-to-hand combat, and static displays.
Location: From the Dahlonega square, go north on Hwy 19 for approx. 2 miles. Turn left on Wahsega Road. Look for signs. Go to the end of the road (approx. 9 miles) to Camp Frank D. Merrill (plan 30 minutes for travel from Dahlonega and for parking).

This self-guided driving tour through beautiful Habersham, Rabun, White and Stephens Counties showcases local artists, art-related businesses and other attractions in the scenic mountains of Northeast Georgia.
Tour includes over 90 businesses and 125 artists participating in the event. The tour can be started at any point where the main highways; Hwy 441N from North Carolina and Toccoa, Hwy 85 to 985 from Atlanta, and Hwy 115 from the west enter the area. Tour Headquarters: Georgia Heritage Center for the Arts, 11785 US Highway 441 N, Tallulah Falls, Georgia.
Directions: US Hwy 441 to Tallulah Falls. Northbound on left past bridge. Southbound on right before bridge.
